They sell an unusual cold dessert- a giant ice ball (ais kepal) that you can get in a few flavors:

4. Laksa Telur Goreng Bersarang at Café Setinggan

The traditionally cooked laksa noodles and spicy fish gravy is topped off with a unique style of fried egg that makes it look like a bird’s nest, hence the name ‘telur goreng bersarang’

5. Ipoh Hainan Chicken Rice

You cannot leave Ipoh without trying Ipoh Hainan Chicken Rice! You will love the flavorsome poached chicken served with light soy sauce. The dish is best eaten with a serving of boiled bean sprouts together with a bowl of smooth and fragrant rice. The delicious chilli sauce to dip your chicken in!

6. Mee Daud Mat Jasak

It is one of the few places to serve good mee kicap with yong tau foo, as well as mee kari with succulent fishballs in coconut curry gravy. Have the mee kicap with either flat rice noodles or yellow noodles!

8. Miker Food

Head on to Miker Food for a whole host of choice from Malay dishes to Western selections. Try the special Tom Yam Nyor that is packed with seafood and served in a coconut. The water from the coconut itself is used in making the tom yam, giving it the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Other than that, you cannot miss the handmade stine oven pizza from the Chik Pizza stall! You can even try half-and-half of any of their topping cobinations if you are indecisive!

Top Attraction Places in Perak



1. Gua Tempurung

Tempurong Cave is one of the largest natural limestone caves in Malaysia stretching over 1.5 km. It is show cave with safe walkways and illuminated to reveal its natural beauty.



2. Perak Tong Cave Temple

On the outskirts of Ipoh there are many fascinating cave temples to visit. One of the most famous is Perak Tong Cave Temple. The cave contains a 40-foot-high golden Buddha and beautiful murals. Climb 450 steps for a great view of Ipoh.



4. Kellie’s Castle

Kellie’s castle was named after its owner William Kellie Smith a Scottish planter. The castle was designed to replicate the great British Raj palaces in India with Moorish style arches and windows. He built the castle for his beloved wife, Agnes but was not completed when he died in 1926. This historic half-built palatial home for a Scottish planter is one of the top Perak attractions.



4. Maxwell Hill (Bukit Larut)

Little has changed at Bukit Larut Resort Hill in the past 100 years. It is still a place for nature, peace and quiet and fresh mountain.



5. Tasik Cermin

Tasik Cermin (Mirror Lake) is a stunning hidden lake surrounded by limestone karst towers. You need to walk through a quarry and a tunnel to reach it.



6. Perak Man

Visit Lenggong Valley Archeological Gallery to see the oldest skeleton found in Peninsular Malaysia and gain an appreciation of the archaeological history of the Lenggong Valley, one of Malaysia’s four UNESCO World Heritage Sites.



7. Kuala Kangsar Heritage Trail

Take a self-guided tour around Kuala Kangsar, one of Malaysia’s loveliest and most historic towns.



8. Banding Island

Banding Island is an ideal base for exploring Lake Temenggor and the Royal Belum Rainforest. Definitely one of Malaysia’s most beautiful areas.
